Energy Column II

Sculptural artist Jack Ward originated in Detroit and received his BFA in Sculpture from Wayne State University. He has shown his sculptural work in several venues in Michigan, including the Detroit Institute of Arts and the late Willis Gallery. Ward's work also appears within the city of Detroit as a memorial to the 1967 Detroit Riots. After his time in Detroit, Ward moved to Marietta, Georgia, where he maintains his own professional studio, Ward Sculptural Arts Sculpture Studio & Fine Art Bronze Foundry.

Energy Column II is a steel welded work mirroring the various chemical structures of energy, such as the energy transport molecule adenosine triphosphate. Its faceted spirals are like a vented obelisk, monolithic in its stature and presentation. Energy Column II can be viewed on the campus of Wayne State University in a seating area just off Gullen Mall.
